Transport Type...

Bus

Kolkata’s bus network has been described as one of the most extensive and highly connected in all of India, with the cheapest fares as well. Routes are easily accessible and are written on the front of each bus. Stops are also made convenient as the driver calls out each destination as he approaches it.

Along the with these state buses, your options are extended as the city also features deluxe buses operated by CSTC (Calcutta State Transport Corporation), CTC (Calcutta Tramways Company) and WBSTC (West Bengal Surface Transport Corporation).

Auto rickshaw

Kolkata’s auto-rickshaws offer fixed routes and fares, allowing you to travel from point A to B without the hassle of additional charges or transferring. Auto-rickshaws allow three people to occupy the backseat, making the price even more affordable as everyone can pay their share.

Taxi and Car

The city of Kolkata has very recognizable taxi services, with yellow cars constantly traveling the roads. With readily available cabs and fairly inexpensive prices, taxis are a great way to explore the city. Fares are determined by doubling the meter and adding Rs 2. The meter begins at Rs 10, making the total Rs 22.

Another option for transportation is to hire a rental car, with companies located throughout the city. Your rate will be dependant on factors such as make, model, size and comfort of the car. You can also opt to include an experienced driver, ensuring safe and easy arrival to all of your destinations.
